Dr. Kevin Spelman will present a lecture on “Pharmacological Insights into Medicinal Plants and Their Extractions” at the CannMed 2022 Conference. Plants have long offered clinical therapeutics, Cannabis is no exception. About 50% of our current pharmacopoeia comes from or is inspired by phytochemicals. There are many reasons that plant compounds may be of therapeutic value, including broad spectrum and unique pharmacological target interfaces, as well as synergic activity that is the rule, rather than the exception. But none of this is of practical value unless extraction of these constituents into usable products is possible.
